The SELFCheck Pregnancy Blood Test is a rapid home test for the detection of raised levels 25 IU/L) of human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) from a finger prick blood sample in just 5 minutes. Urine pregnancy test kits are usually able to detect hCG about 1 week after a missed period, but some sensitive blood tests can detect pregnancy before a missed period and when used correctly are around 97 to 99% accurate US National Library of Medicine.Blood tests can be more reliable than urine tests for showing that you are pregnant and, for this reason, are sometimes used in hospital labs to confirm a urine pregnancy test. Unlike urine pregnancy tests, you can use a blood test at any time of the day and are unaffected by dilution from drinks. Because of this, you may get a positive result with the new SELFCheck pregnancy blood test before you would with a urine test.The same device used in the SELFCheck pregnancy blood test is also used in hospitals. Nevertheless, due to the increased complexity of a home pregnancy blood test compared to a traditional urine test, more skill is required to perform the test correctly. It is therefore even more important to thoroughly read and understand the instructions provided with a home blood test to ensure the correct amount of blood and diluent is added to the test device.Sadly, the rate of miscarriage is very high during early pregnancy occurring in around 10% of women under 30 and 50% of women over 45 years old. Due to this high risk of miscarriage during the early stages of pregnancy it is important to appreciate that using a pregnancy test very early on in pregnancy will mean that some women will initially get a positive result which may subsequently become negative when tested later on.The SELFCheck Pregnancy Blood Test uses a pair of specific antibodies to detect this hCG hormone and gives a positive result when the hCG level in the blood is higher than 25 IU/L as determined against the World Health Organisation (W.H.O) reference standard. This is the same hormone detected in urine pregnancy test kits.

Our standard UK & Ireland delivery charge is FREE for all orders over £35 (excludes infant baby formula and orders containing bulky / heavy items. These are not available for free delivery)

Orders under £35 are £3.95 for Standard UK Delivery, and £5.95 for Express UK Delivery. Please note, 'express' orders are dispatched as a priority and sent via Royal Mail 24. This is not a guaranteed next day service

DPD fully tracked service is available from £6.99. This is usually a 2 day service.

Standard delivery for international orders will normally be approximately 7-14 days for customers within the EU and 7-21 days for customers outside of the EU. We cannot guarantee transit times through customs so on some occasions this may take a little longer.

Our standard delivery charges for international customers are from £29.99 within Europe and £49.99 for the Rest of the World. This will cover the postage of almost all orders. If we need to give you a quote for international postage for example due to weight we will contact you as soon as possible after ordering.

Some items such as medicines and products classified by the Civil Aviation Authority as Dangerous Goods such as aerosols cannot be shipped internationally.

We understand that there may be occasions when the items you have ordered may no longer be suitable or they may not have been received as expected. 

If this is the case then you can return any unwanted items within 28 days of receipt for a refund or replacement. This applies as long as items are unused and are returned with the original, undamaged packaging. 

* Please note, once items are opened and or used, products cannot be returned. Items received broken or damaged need to be notified to us within 24 hours of receipt to the email address below. We will then correspond with you directly to resolve the issue. Products of a medicinal (including medicines), cosmetic or personal nature cannot be returned for hygiene and safety reasons.

In the event of a refund, these will be made by the same method used to pay for the order. Card issuers will only allow refunds to be made to the card used to pay for the original order. Please be aware that it can take as long as 7 days for a refund to be acknowledged by your bank or card issuer.
