Solpadeine Plus uses a triple action formula – paracetamol, codeine and caffeine – to help deliver fast and effective pain relief. This is a Pharmacy Medicine item. We will ask you to complete a questionnaire to ensure this is appropriate for you which our pharmacist will check.
Codeine is indicated in patients older than 12 years of age for the treatment of acute moderate pain which is not considered to be relieved by other analgesics such as paracetamol or ibuprofen alone. Solpadeine Plus Tablets are recommended for the relief of migraine, headache, backache, rheumatic pain, period pains and dental pain. Directions: Adults (including the elderly): 2 tablets up to 3 or 4 times a day if necessary. The dose should not be repeated more frequently than every four hours, and not more than 4 doses should be given in any 24 hour period. Children and adolescents aged 12 – 18 years: 2 tablets up to 3 or 4 times a day if necessary. Children aged less than 12 years: Codeine should not be used in children below the age of 12 years because of the risk of opioid toxicity due to the variable and unpredictable metabolism of codeine to morphine. For oral administration only. The duration of treatment should be limited to 3 days and if no effective pain relief is achieved the patients/carers should be advised to seek the views of a physician. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to paracetamol, caffeine, codeine, opioid analgesics or any of the other constituents. In women during breastfeeding. In patients for whom it is known they are CYP2D6 ultra-rapid metabolisers. Special warnings and precautions for use: Care is advised in the administration of paracetamol to patients with renal or hepatic impairment. The hazard of overdose is greater in those with non-cirrhotic alcoholic liver disease. Do not exceed the stated dose. Patients should be advised to consult their doctor if their headaches become persistent. Patients should be advised not to take other paracetamol or codeine-containing products concurrently. If symptoms persist consult your doctor. Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Patients with obstructive bowel disorders or acute abdominal conditions should consult a doctor before using this product. Patients with a history of cholecystectomy should consult a doctor before using this product as it may cause acute pancreatitis in some patients. Excessive intake of caffeine (e.g. coffee, tea and some canned drinks) should be avoided while taking this product. Patients are encouraged to read the PIL enclosed and discuss any concerns with their doctor or pharmacist before taking.

Standard delivery for international orders will normally be approximately 7-14 days for customers within the EU and 7-21 days for customers outside of the EU. We cannot guarantee transit times through customs so on some occasions this may take a little longer.
Our standard delivery charges for international customers are from £24.99 within Europe and £39.99 for the Rest of the World. This will cover the postage of almost all orders. If we need to give you a quote for international postage for example due to weight we will contact you as soon as possible after ordering.
Some items such as medicines and products classified by the Civil Aviation Authority as Dangerous Goods such as aerosols cannot be shipped internationally.

We understand that there may be occasions when the items you have ordered may no longer be suitable or they may not have been received as expected.
If this is the case then you can return any unwanted items within 28 days of receipt for a refund or replacement. This applies as long as items are unused and are returned with the original, undamaged packaging.
* Please note, once items are opened and or used, products cannot be returned. Items received broken or damaged need to be notified to us within 24 hours of receipt to the email address below. We will then correspond with you directly to resolve the issue. Products of a medicinal (including medicines), cosmetic or personal nature cannot be returned for hygiene and safety reasons.
In the event of a refund, these will be made by the same method used to pay for the order. Card issuers will only allow refunds to be made to the card used to pay for the original order. Please be aware that it can take as long as 7 days for a refund to be acknowledged by your bank or card issuer.
